Eclectic and Stronger for it

I am an Eclectic Witch and I am stronger for it.

If it wasn't for having to make due without a regular worship place I would  have never learned to visualize as well as I can.

If I had not needed to learn about herbs and candles and colors on my own, I would never have developed the needed skills to interact with deity.

If I had been handed a working ritual with no struggle to find something that works, I would never have been able to identify energy the way I do much less how to economically and effectively use it.

If I had been brought up in a coven, I would never have thought to make friends with the "spirits of the land" or to ask their aid in my magic or to welcome their unique teachings.

There are those who would turn their nose up to me. They would think themselves superior. I am ok with that, we all need something in life to be proud about. Me, I am thankful for how I came into my magic and learned to use it.

I climbed that mountain and still am. My path has not been smooth or easy, but what in life that actually teaches is?

To work magic, one must know one's self. By coming into magic my way I can say I know myself reasonably well. By knowing myself I can then know others. But just like my knowing of others is limited, so too is my knowing of myself.
